Anniversary Time

We met over lunch with a mutual friend, Michael, in July 9 years ago and have been together ever since.

We married July 26th, 2004.... but they screwed up our license so it says our anniversary is the 23rd! We were broke and couldn't afford anything more expensive than Ramon Noodles at the time so I wore a HUGE CZ wedding ring from Target that cost $19.99! LOL! And I wore it with pride. (I did tell him that I would wear it until he could afford the ring that I wanted... so that made it easier to wear it!)

We renewed our vows July 12th, 2008 with a wedding. After all that we went through with the fire and rebuilding our house and our life, we decided that life is too short and this was our way of rededicating ourselves to each other and our family.

(We have 3 anniversary dates to choose from and wouldn't you know that we missed all 3 this year! I literally jumped up at 11:30pm 7/26/10 to do this! And of course it won't be done by midnight... but it's the thought that counts and since we both forgot... 3 times this year! Neither gets to be upset with the other!)

As you can see above, it was raining on our wedding day. I don't mean a little sprinkle... I mean torrential downpour! (Or yes honey, it was raining spiders!) And it lasted until about 30 minutes before our scheduled time!
My wedding planner, who was awesome, was frantically trying to figure out how to accommodate 150-200 people in my house for the ceremony when I told her I was not changing my plans! She probably thought I had gone crazy! I was determined that I had waited years to have this wedding and that I WAS going down that isle come you know what or High Waters and I was getting served high waters with the flood in my front yard! LOL! I had groomsman on stand by offering to carry me down to the alter! LOL!

But our prayers were answered 30 minutes before the ceremony and every towel I owned got put to work drying all the benches!

Decorations were ready...

Grooms cake was a duck pond. Wedding cake was Camo to match the guys mossy oak tuxedos

Here are some pics of everyone getting ready:
The men in my life are so handsome!

Time to go down the Isle:
Brittanie hated her dress, of course, but isn't she beautiful! She actually stuck her tongue out at the photographer as she walked by. But he was laughing and didn't get that pic!
Poor little Ashleigh tripped so we had to stop for some lovin. I felt so bad for her!

Prayer works! We are living happily ever after and it just gets better all the time!
The Lord has taught us to walk through the fire and dance in the rain! HE is in control!

Bay Day

Brittanie's 5th grad class went on a field trip to Bay Day. The kids learned all about recycling, why it's important and what they can do to help keep our planet clean and our wildlife safe.

This is a net used with a special trap door that allows the sea turtles to slip through while the fisherman catch their shrimp and other fish.
